West Windsor, N.J. (Friday, January 2, 2009) – The New Jersey Wildcats are close to compiling their 2009 roster after a pair of successful tryout sessions that concluded this past weekend. Over the upcoming weeks, the club looks to announce the names of those players that will join them for the upcoming W-League season, which is slated to begin in May.

“We feel that we have picked a good core of players, and we are excited about where we are right now,” Wildcats President Kevin McDermott remarked. “Our goal is to win 75% of our games this season, and we hope to win the W-League title within three years. Coming out of these successful tryouts, we feel we have a chance to do just that.”

Tampa, Fla. - United Soccer Leagues announced the details for the 2009 USL W-League season. Among the details finalized recently at the 2008 Annual General Meeting at the Hyatt Regency in Tampa, FL were the alignment, schedule structure and playoff details for the 2009 competition.

The W-League will consist of 37 teams in 2009, playing in five divisions that comprise the three conferences. One minor change to the alignment format is the name change of the Northern Division to Great Lakes.
